Waiver

Sessions can involve strong emotional, physical and cathartic release. I understand that as the body is integrating these changes I may have experiences such as more energy, better sleep, better mobility and calm. There may also be the experience/s of feeling under the weather, soreness, some dizziness post session, fatigue, emotions etc.

I will make sure I allow enough time after each session to take care of myself and allow for this.

For example, I will consider my driving arrangements and make sure I have any physical or emotional support I feel I may need after the session.

I take full responsibility for my health, the appropriateness of these sessions for me, and any unforeseen circumstances while I am involved in these sessions. I have freely decided to undergo this healing work and by participating in the session/s, I hereby give my full consent to the treatment. 

Contraindications:

​The below are for Spinal Energetics.

However, at times we (practitioner and client) may choose to combine both Spinal Flow and Spinal Energetics together in one session.

​I agree to provide details of any of the below contraindications regardless of the technique chosen.

​

Pregnancy/ Postpartum:

Spinal Energetics is unsuitable during the first and third trimesters of pregnancy.

​We highly advise that pregnant women in their second trimester only receive Spinal Energetics from a practitioner who is also a physiotherapist, GP or chiropractor. Melanie Thorpe is none of these.

​Spinal Energetics is also not suitable during the first 3-6 months of postpartum.

​Although this modality is generally considered safe, and alterations to processes can be made, rare cases may release trauma or a strong emotional response, which we don’t recommend during these listed terms.

​Children
Spinal Energetics is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Children between 13-18 need to have a guardian present during treatment.

​Elderly
Spinal Energetics practitioners can treat clients up to the age of 75. Clients between the ages of 70 and 75 should be treated with extra caution. It is up to the practitioner's discretion to determine these clients' mobility capabilities and assess if they can cope with treatment.

​The following conditions must not be treated by Spinal Energetics:

·       Diagnosed Severe PTSD

·       Severe mental health conditions (bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis)

·       If taking heavy medication that alters brain chemistry (anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, antipsychotic)

·       Recent physical injuries, fractures and/or surgeries

·       Epilepsy

·       History or diagnosis of aneurysms

·       Cardiovascular problems

·       History of seizures

·       Severe Asthma

·       Heart disease

·       Heart conditions

·       Hospitalisation for any psychiatric condition, emotional crisis, or spiritual emergence within three years

·       Any other medical, psychiatric or physical conditions that would impair or affect their ability to engage in activities involving intense physical and/or emotional release.

Each client is obligated to be honest and reveal all relevant conditions to their practitioner.

I agree to consult my health care professional to ascertain whether this type of treatment is appropriate given any sensitive / pre-existing conditions / medications I may have. This is not a replacement for any conditions that may require diagnosis, medical attention or treatment another trained professional appropriate for my care.

Melanie Thorpe holds my wellbeing as her highest priority, therefore if any questions or concerns arise I will discuss these with her, with the good intention they will be fairly resolved.

Client Terms

Payment:

You agree to pay the session fee/s in full prior to the session/s using the payment method provided. 

Time:

We appreciate mutual respect for each other’s time. Please arrive on time and ready to begin.

If you will be late for your session please me know as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to accommodate you. This may involve agreeing to a new date / time.

Cancellation / Rescheduling:

Things happen and there may be a time you’re not be able to come to your session.

I do allow flexibility with rescheduling, although please appreciate the following:

I require 48 hours notice for all cancellations.

If you provide less than 48 hours notice - the full fee will be payable at the time notice is provided.

Please understand this is because my ability to accommodate another person may have been lost.

To make this as fair as possible, if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice I will allow a reschedule of that session to another time (I would much prefer this).

This must be prior to, and in addition to any future sessions (ie cannot be your next booked session).

Note: If you absolutely need to cancel I will make efforts to offer your session to another client.

If, after your fee has been paid I am able to do so I’ll be happy to apply it to your next session or refund.

Cancellations for Frequency Healing Group Sessions - the purchase of this session is to be treated as a ticket. Therefore these are non refundable. They are however transferrable to another person.

Conduct:

We will treat you with the respect in my communication with you, and we appreciate the same in return. 

Where a session is held in-person with a client under the age of 18, the parent / legal guardian agrees they have discussed the treatment with the client and give consent to this on their behalf.

Spinal Flow - this will involve some brief questions, assessments to check posture and mobility, followed by treatment involving light contacts to the body (primarily sacrum, temples, occiput, spine, arms and feet). Treatment will be performed on a massage / therapy table.

Spinal Energetics - this will involve some brief questions, assessments to check posture and mobility, followed by treatment involving light contacts to the body and interaction with the clients energy field. For in-person sessions, treatment will be performed on a massage / therapy table. For remote sessions client will be sitting or lying down in a setting of their / parent / legal guardians choosing.

Frequency Healing - this will first involve some brief discussion with the client for me to understand how they’re feeling. For in-person sessions, treatment will be performed on a massage / therapy table. For remote sessions client will be sitting or lying down in a setting of their / parent / legal guardians choosing.

This will involve my working with the clients energy field to create shifts in their body and state of wellbeing.

Session will be held over Cliniko or Zoom meeting platform.

In all sessions of any type - client will remain clothed at all times.

All correspondence must be made with the parent / legal guardian. We will not knowingly accept information outside the session from anyone under the age of 18.

Complaints:

We will operate with the highest integrity, although if you have any questions or concerns please contact me with the details. I may ask you to put this in writing. It will either be followed up with a message from me or a phone call as I believe most concerns are best discussed with healthy communication in person.

The provision of my services, including attached Client Terms, Waiver and Disclaimer are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. My payment of, and /or participation in the services is agreement to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia in the Event of any dispute.

Melanie Thorpe and her services are located in New South Wales, Australia and in case of any cross-border orders these service terms shall be construed as being performed in New South Wales, Australia.

Refusal of Service:

We reserve the right to refuse and refund services. The reasons may include not making all of our services available to residents in certain countries. This is often due to limitations by insurers and we will notify you if this is the case. This may also include reasons such as learning this service may not be appropriate for you, given information you’ve provided us.

If during a session, I feel this is no longer appropriate for you, I reserve the right to close the session and will provide you with an explanation as to why. This decision will be made only with your best interests at heart.
